Attorney Albert Bensabat III of Hammond, LA; ethical elf

The state of Louisiana presented Albert A. Bensabat III with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Law.

The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board found Al guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Pled guilty to driving under the influence (DUI)
  • Overdrew his trust account
  • Failed to reconcile his trust account on a quarterly basis
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Commingled client funds with his personal funds

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Al by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 3-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Al.

As we speak (ca. May 2024), Al practices his so-called brand of law at 406 West Morris Avenue in Hammond, Louisiana.
