Attorney Gay Woodhouse of Cheyenne, WY; ethical gremlin

The state of Wyoming presented Gay Vanderpoel Woodhouse with a law license in 1977 after she graduated from the University of Wyoming School of Law.

The Board of Professional Responsibility found Gay guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Judge Sharpe granted the defendants’ motion to dismiss Gay’s lawsuit because it failed to state a claim because it was not pled in compliance with statutory prerequisites to bring a derivative action.
• Judge Sharpe also granted opposing counsel’s motion to disqualify Gay based upon a conflict of interest
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to disclose to the trial court legal authority in the controlling jurisdiction known to Gay to be directly adverse to the position of the client
• Engaged in a concurrent client conflict of interest
• Asserted a claim lacking factual or legal basis (aka, frivolous)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wyoming Supreme Court punished Gay by gifting her with a complimentary censure and assessed investigative costs of $800.00.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Gay fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on her self-serving website at www.wrablaw.com. Apparently, she chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting her future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. October 2024), Gay practices her so-called brand of law with Woodhouse Roden Ames & Brennan LLC at 1912 Capitol Avenue in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
