Attorney Joel Vincent of Portland, ME; ethical troll

The state of Maine presented Joel C. Vincent with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the University of Maine School of Law. 

The Grievance Commission of the Maine Board of Bar Overseers found Joel guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to communicate with his client
• Failed to fully prosecute a criminal appeal
• Failed to withdraw from representation in a timely fashion to allow the client to seek other counsel to represent him in his pursuing an appeal
• Neglected a legal matter entrusted to him
• Engaged in conduct unworthy of an attorney

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court punished Joel by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand. 

As we speak (ca. March 2024), Joel practices his so-called brand of law at 44 Exchange Street in Portland, Maine.
