Judge Israel Garcia Jr. of Houston, TX; ethical elf

The state of Texas provided Israel B. Garcia with a law license in 1911 after he graduated from Texas Southern University School of Law.

The State Commission on Judicial Conduct found Israel guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Provided inconsistent and conflicting testimony during ethics hearing
• Ethics investigators found that Israel’s overall testimony to be contradictory and disingenuous
• Improperly distributed business cards advertising his wedding services that featured a picture of Judge Garcia in his judicial robes, as well as his judicial title and an image of the Texas flag
• Advertised his performance of weddings in attempting to solicit customers for same

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Israel by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.
