Magistrate Judge Stefani Godsey of Mason, MI; ethical troll

The state of Michigan presented Stefani C. Godsey with a law license in 2000 after she graduated from Western Michigan University Thomas Cooley School of Law.

FYI: Cooley is ranked as the worst or one of the worst law schools in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools. Proof of such a ranking is the fact that Donald Trump’s former attorney and fixer was none other than convicted felon Michael Cohen.

It should be noted that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners along with the judges of the 55th District Court were duped into appointing Stefani as an attorney magistrate in March 2020 even though her law license was suspended for 90 days on March 24, 2017.

The Ingham County Hearing Panel #2 found Stefani guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place before she was appointed as an Attorney Magistrate for the 55th Judicial District Court.

  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Knowingly disobeyed an obligation under the rules of a tribunal
  • Engaged in conduct that exposed the legal profession or the courts to obloquy, contempt, censure, or reproach
  • Engaged in conduct that was contrary to justice, ethics, honesty, or good morals
  • Engaged in conduct that violated the criminal laws of the State of Michigan

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Stefani by gifting her with a complimentary 90-day suspension of her law license and assessed investigative costs in the amount of $756.96.

As we speak (ca. March 2024), Stefani continues to dispense her so-called idea of jurisprudence as a Magistrate attorney for the 55th Judicial District court.

Additionally, Stefani supplements her judicial income by practicing her so-called brand of law with Lisa A. Godfrey Attorney at Law at 137 North Park Street in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
