Judge Gregory Kreis of Eureka, CA; ethical troll

The State of California provided Gregory J. Kreis with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law.

FYI: Former Gov. Jerry Brown was duped into appointing Gregory as a Humboldt County Superior Court Judge in 2017. Gregory didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Humboldt County area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The California Judicial Commission has found Gregory guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in willful misconduct
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• While attending the "Fifth Annual Antlers Campout" and prior to boarding a pontoon boat at the event, Gregory inhaled from a vaporizer pen containing cannabis oil
• Ridiculed Deputy Public Defender (DPD) Kalin’s clothing, telling him that he was "dressed like an old man"
• After boarding the pontoon boat, Gregory drank alcohol, appeared to be intoxicated and, on multiple occasions, called Deputy Kalin "Jewboy"
• Told DPD Kalin that he looked Jewish, called him "Jewboy" to his face, in front of his wife, and laughed or smiled each time he made the remark
• In DPD Kalin's presence, Gregory said to Stefanie Kalin, "I don't even know why you're married to this Jewboy"
• During the ride on the pontoon boat, while Stefanie Kalin was speaking with Quincy Brownfield who was wearing a bathing suit and was holding her youngest child, Gregory walked over to Ms. Brownfield; got close to her; pantomimed something similar to a lap dance on her; moved your body and moaned or made other noises that suggested you were having sex with Ms. Brownfield; and indicated to Ms. Kalin that Ms. Brownfield enjoyed what you were doing
• Engaged in conduct bringing his judicial office into disrepute 
• Made false or misleading statements to the presiding judge regarding his affair with court employee Tanya Ellis
• Threatened Meagan O'Connell, Supervising Attorney at the Humboldt County Conflict Counsel's office, with filing an ethics complaint against her when she appeared before him on behalf of several defendants
• Failed to disclose personal relationships with a party to opposing counsel in cases assigned to him
• After Judge Wilson told Gregory to stop making sarcastic comments to DDA Schaeffer, and as she was walking out of the courtroom, Gregory called her a “bitch” or a “pretentious bitch”
• Failed to avoid impropriety or the appearance of impropriety

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Gregory by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission.
