Former Judge Pamela Smith of Truth or Consequences, NM: lying scammer

The state of New Mexico presented Pamela D. Smith with a law license in 1992 after she graduated from Pepperdine University of School of Law.

The New Mexico Commission on Judicial Conduct found Pam guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while was the Sierra County Probate Court judge.

  • Pamela’s return to judicial service would cause immediate and substantial risk of harm to the judiciary and staff of the San Juan County Magistrate Court
  • Engaged in conduct eroding public confidence in the judiciary
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Pamela’s continuance as a judge would risk the integrity of the Court’s files
  • Engaged in impropriety and/or the appearance of impropriety
  • Pam’s husband Randy Smith was appointed as Special Administrator to administer the estate of Dominic Domingo and was granted authority to collect, manage, preserve, and account for the Dominic’s assets
  • After Dominic’s death, Pam’s husband Randy transferred all the money in Dominic’s Bank of America account and deposited into his and Pam’s personal bank account at Wells Fargo
  • The amount Randy transferred from the Bank of America account was $280,000.00
  • Pam told New Mexico State Police (NMS) agent Lopez she used $66,000 of the money to pay off bills and stated the money was her and her money, so she used it
  • When Pam was contacted by the decedent’s next of kin, Mr. Paone, he told him that the decedent had no personal effects except a few items of personal clothing and a wallet containing a driver’s license, bricklayers’ membership card and a passport
  • Pam’s statements about her attempt to locate Dominic’s next of kin were patently false
  • Pam and her husband Randy knowingly and intentionally altered documents that were filed in the Probate Court

As one would suspect, Pam did what any cowardly Judicial Misfit would do, she resigned before the New Mexico Supreme Court could issue an order removing her from the bench.

As we speak (ca. February 2024), it is rumored that Pam has an application pending for a job as a bank cashier at the Bank of the Southwest at 509 North Broadway Street in Truth and Consequences, New Mexico.
