Solicitor Roy Miller of Scotland; ethical troll

The Law Society presented Roy William Andrew Miller with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from the University of Glasgow School of Law.

The Scottish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal found Roy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in professional misconduct
  • Failed failure to settle an account in the sum of £3,616.09
  • Failed to respond to reminders despite having received reimbursement of that amount from the Scottish Legal Aid Board
  • Defended court proceedings raised against him in respect of the aforementioned outstanding account without any valid defense
  • Misled the reporter in relation to her outstanding account during the course of telephone calls, and his failure or
  • Failed in responding to correspondence and statutory notices from the Society
  • Showed a pattern of behavior of not dealing with things properly

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Discipline Tribunal punished Roy by gifting him with a complimentary censure and imposed a fine of £3,000.

As we speak (ca. January 2024), Roy practices his so-called brand of law in Edinburgh, Scotland.
