Attorney Henry Aratow of Brookside, New Jersey; slacker, loser

The state of New Jersey provided Henry Joseph Aratow with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from Ohio Northern University School of Law.

FYI: Ohio Northern University School of Law is ranked as the 161st best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Hank guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in gross neglect of client matters
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Hank!)
  • Failed to inform his client that her case had been dismissed
  • Failed to reply to the client’s inquiries about the status of her case
  • Failed to notify his client that he location of his practice had changed
  • Failed explain the matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit DeWitt to make informed
  • decisions regarding the representation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Hank by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2023), Hank practices his so-called brand of law in Brookside, New Jersey.
