Former Judge Celé Hancock of Prescott, AZ; drunken loser

The state of Arizona presented Celé Hancock with a law license in 1996 after she graduated from the University of Arizona Law School.

First and foremost, it should be noted that this isn’t Hancock’s First bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree. She previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct. A review of that misconduct can be found by visiting the URL at the end of this article.

The Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct found Judge Hancock guilty of the following misconduct

• Arrested for driving under the influence (DUI)
• Hancock was parked outside a grocery store before driving off and was subsequently pulled over by a police officer
• Police reported that Hancock showed signs of alcohol consumption and failed several sobriety tests
• Breath tests showed Hancock initially had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.158% with later tests at 0.219% and 0.214% —all far above Arizona’s DUI threshold of 0.08% for drivers
• State law defines extreme DUI for drivers who have a blood-alcohol content of 0.15% or higher

Rather than await a decision that may have led to her being tossed off the bench, Hancock did what most cowardly Judicial Misfits do, she resigned and promised to never seek another judicial office for the balance of her life.

As we speak (ca. March 2024), it is rumored that Hancock has an application pending as a bartender at the Point Bar & Lounge located 114 North Montezuma Street in Prescott, Arizona.
