Attorney Elizabeth Gwyn of Seattle, WA; ethical troll

The State of Washington presented Douglas Holmes Prestrud with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from Seattle University School of Law.

The Washington State Bar found Liz guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in an egregious conflict of interest
  • Represented Client A while simultaneously representing Client B in connection with a hearing when there was significant risk that one client’s representation may be materially limited by the other client’s representation
  • Continued to represent Client A when there was significant risk that the representation may be materially limited by Staton’s personal interests as Client A’s creditor, customer, and having claims against Client A for theft and/or conversion
  • Engaged in business transactions with Client A, including a promissory note, deed of trust, and subsequent loans to Client A, when the terms were not fair and reasonable and were not fully conveyed in writing, and when Client A did not give informed consent confirmed in writing as to the essential terms of the transactions

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Liz by gifting Liz with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2023), Liz practices her so-called brand of law at 7506 34th Avenue NW in Seattle, Washington.
