Attorney Hampton Young, Jr. or Portland, OR; ethical misfit

The state of Wyoming provided Hampton McCracken Young Jr. with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the Southwestern University School of Law. Hampton also obtained a license to practice in Nevada in 1978.

The Board of Professional Responsibility found Hampton guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Faied to properly pursue a matter for a client
  • Allowed client to believe that claim letters had been sent and a complaint filed when they had not
  • Told the client on several occasions that a mediation had been set up when it had not
  • Delayed transferring the file to a new attorney when requested to do so by the client
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wyoming Carolina Supreme punished Hampton by gifting him with a complimentary censure and assessed investigative costs of $800.00.

As we speak (ca. December 2023), Hampton practices his so-called brand of law with Hampton Young Law at 3956 SW Condor Avenue in Portland, Oregon.
