Attorney John Grafton of Winfield, WV; slacker, loser
The state of West Virginia presented John A. Grafton with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from the University of West Virginia School of Law.
FYI: This isn’t Johnny’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.
The Lawyer Disciplinary Board found Johnny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.
-
Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
-
Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
-
Intentionally and repeatedly violated duties to his client, the public, the legal system, and the legal profession
-
Client was most obviously damaged when, as a result of Johnny's lack of diligence and deceit, her suit was dismissed
-
Failed in perfecting an appeal of the summary judgment on client’s behalf
-
Missed or ignored multiple deadlines, including: not filing either fact witness or expert witness disclosures on behalf of his client
-
Failed to timely respond to discovery requests
-
Failed in not filing responses to the defendant's request for admissions; causing the independent medical examination deadline to be continued because of the unduly late response to discovery
-
Failed to submit a response to the defendant's motion for summary judgment on behalf if his client
-
Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Johnny!)
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the West Virginia Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.
As we speak, (ca. December 20223), Johnny practices his so-called brand in Winfield, West Virginia.
