Mitt Romney: Today’s “Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Mitt Romney
Today’s “Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner

Hardly a day goes by without Mitt gracing us with yet another dose of comedic relief. If there has ever been a more accomplished standup comedian running for the presidency, I don’t know who in the hell it would be. I certainly don’t want to denigrate the good work past presidential candidates have done, but none of them can hold a candle to Mitt the Comic.

During a December presidential debate, Mitt was asked to name his favorite Supreme Court justice. He came up with John Roberts. In fact, on Mitt’s campaign website, he vows that as president he would nominate justices “in the mold of Chief Justice Roberts.”

After Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts found Obamacare constitutional, Mitt was desperately searching for the appropriate Comedy lever.

It seems as though Mitt’s love affair with Roberts has waned. During a recent interview with CBS News’ Jan Crawford, Mitt was asked if he’d still nominate justices like Roberts if elected president. Mitt said, “Well, I certainly wouldn’t nominate someone who I knew was going to come out with a decision I violently – or vehemently, rather, disagreed with.”

Mitt went on to say, “But that being said, he’s [Roberts] a very bright person, and I’d look for individuals that have intelligence and believe in following the Constitution.” As to possessing intelligence, that would certainly disqualify any Clarence Thomas clones!

Congrats Mitt; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as America’s Preeminent Standup Comedians; you are far too humble.
