Attorney Brendon Burns of Tucson, AZ; ethical goblin, repeater

 

The state of Arizona presented John Burton with a law license in 2004 after he graduated from the University of Arizona School of Law.

 

The Arizona State Bar found Brendon guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

 

Brendon’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • While his divorce was pending Brendan, on multiple occasions, violated an order of protection his wife obtained by repeatedly calling her and by entering the family residence in violation of the temporary orders
  • On one occasion while Brandon argued with his wife, he held a knife to his stomach and asked her to stab him
  • Brandon’s eight year-old daughter entered the room while this occurred the knife to the stomach occurred
  • Brandon pled guilty to misdemeanor Criminal Trespass
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Brendon by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand of his law license and assessed investigative costs of $1,200.00.

Brendon’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to adequately communicate with his clients despite court orders that he do so
  • Failed to advise his clients that the court had threatened sanctions if he continued to not communicate with them
  • When the court set a sanction hearing regarding these failures, Brendon did not tell his clients
  • Misconduct involved dishonest or selfish motive

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Brandon by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license and assessed investigative costs of $2,000.00.

 

As we speak (ca. December 2023), Brendon practices his so-called practice of law with The Law Office of Brendan Burns PLLC at 239 North Meyer Avenue in Tucson, Arizona.
