Attorney Brent Blanchard of Santa Clara, UT; slacker, repeater

The state of Nevada presented Brent A. Blanchard with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from California Western University School of Law.

FYI: California Western School of Law is ranked as the 164th best law school in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools.

The Nevada Disciplinary Board found Brent guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Brent’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Tree

  • Failed to communicate with his client
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Brent!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court punished Brent by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed $1,500 in investigate costs.

Brent’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Tree

  • Engaged in a conflict of interest with current clients
  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Failed to act with candor in dealings with a tribunal
  • Engaged in the unauthorized practice of law
  • Failed to act fairly to opposing party and counsel

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court punished Brent by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license and assessed $1,500 in investigate costs.

Brent’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with his client
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Failed to act fairly to opposing party and counsel
  • Actions caused actual injury to his client
  • Failed to respond to discovery
  • Failed to appear at hearings even after rescheduled
  • Knowingly failed to perform services for his  client
  • Knowingly engaged in conduct that violates a duty owed to the legal profession

  • Engaged in bad faith obstruction of ethics investigation (Screw you, said Brent!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court punished Brent by gifting him with a complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license and assessed $1,500 in investigate costs.

As we speak (ca. December 20123), Brent practices his so-called brand of law with the Blanchard Law Office at 2719 Crestview Drive in Santa Clara, Utah.
