Solicitor Thomas K. Madden of Ireland; scamming loser

The Law Society of Ireland provided Thomas K. Madden with a solicitor’s license in 1994 after he graduated from graduated from Queen’s University School of Law in Belfast.

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal found Tommy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Made misleading entries in the books of accounts regarding payment to clients, which payments were actually made to Tommy
  • Caused or allowed a personal injury claim client to endorse the back of a blank client account cheque
  • Failed to comply with the current anti-money-laundering client identification requirement in the sample of files examined
  • Breached one of the conditions of his practicing certificate by issuing a number of client cheques that had not been countersigned as required
  • Failed to lodge to the office account and to record the receipt in the office account books of the practice certain costs drawn from the client account by means of client account cheques payable to the client
  • Conducted a number of transactions involving cash received from the client account off the books

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Tribunal punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary censure and assessed various costs of €10,651.

As we speak (ca. November 2023), Tommy practices his so-called brand of law Thomas K Madden and Company, Solicitors, 1 Camlin View, Longford, Ireland.
