Attorney Richard “Rick” Davis of Bryan, TX; arrogant, potty-mouth

The state of Texas presented Richard Byron “Rick” Davis with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from St. Louis University Law School.

The Texas Juridical Commission found Rick guilty of the following misconduct while he sat as a judge on the 294th District Court in Bryan, Texas.

Rick was of the opinion that a new female assistant DA had tried to circumvent his order in a pending criminal case. Rick then told the prosecutor that her conduct was “sneaky, surreptitious and deliberately calculated to undermine” him.

Ricky then made similar comments about the assistant DA in a letter to the elected District Attorney. He then gave the media copies of his letter and transcripts from hearings in the case, which generated extensive media coverage of Rick’s dispute with the prosecutor and the DA.

In response to the DAs criticism, Rick wrote another letter, stating the prosecutor had acted with “gross misconduct” and that she likely had the “compassion of an Auschwitz camp guard.” Rick also used Biblical references to buttress profane comments he directed at the DA.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Potty-Mouth Rick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2012) Rick continues to practice his brand of law in the Bryan, Texas area.
