Judge Wayne Walston of Beaumont, TX; serial scofflaw

The state of Texas presented Wayne Kent Walston with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from Baylor University School of Law.

The Texas Ethics Commission found Wayne guilty of engaging in the following campaign contribution violations.

  • Despite  a $15,000 contribution limit from a law firm or members of the firm, Wayne accepted an additional $11,875 over the $15,000 limit
  • Accepted $6,875 in excessive contributions from another law firm
  • Accepted $1,875 from one attorney which exceed the legal limit of $5,000
  • Total amount of improper contributions accepted by Wayne amounted to $32,500

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Ethics Commission punished Wayne

by imposing a $3,250 civil penalty, and further ordered him to reimburse the contributors responsible for the $32,500 in improper contributions.

And lastly, the laughable part of the so-called punishment is the fact that Wayne is allowed to pay the $3,250 civil penalty with campaign contributions. Put simply, this misconduct didn’t cost Wayne anything at all.

As we speak (ca. November 2023), Wayne continues to dispense his so-called brand of jurisprudence as 58th District Court Judge in Beaumont, Texas.
