Former Judge Benjamin Harrison of Hobbs, NM; scofflaw, loser

The state of New Mexico presented Mary W. Rosner with a law license in 1987 after she graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law.

The New Mexico Judicial Standards Commission found Benny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as a Hobbs Municipal Court Judge.

  • Violated due process rights of litigants appearing before him
  • Engaged in improper ex parte (one-sided) communications with various persons regarding pending court matters
  • Failed to follow the law (scofflaw)
  • Failed to follow mandated court rules

Rather than await a ruling from the New Mexico Supreme Court that likely would have meant him being tossed off the bench, Benny did what any coward would do, he resigned his judgeship with an agreement to never seek judicial office in the future.

As we speak (ca. December 2023), it is rumored that Benny has an application pending as a greeter at the Walmart Supercenter Store at 3800 North Lovington Highway in Hobbs, New Mexico.
