Attorney J. Mitchell Flick of Mt. Vernon, ME; ethical troll

The state of Maine presented J. Mitchell Flick with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Western New England University School of Law.

As one would suspect, this isn’t Mitch’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received one complimentary warning and one complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

Panel E of the Grievance Commission of the Maine Board of Bar Overseers found Mitch guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to act with candor towards a tribunal
• Knowingly made false statement of material fact to ethics investigators (Up yours, said Mitch!)
• Mitch violated duties owed by him to the public, to the legal system, and to the
• Mitch caused actual financial and other harm to his client by his conduct
• Mitch subjected his client to a legal action not pleaded or prosecuted in good faith
• Lacked the recognition of or remorse for his misconduct 

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court punished Mitch by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.
