Attorney Matthew Barringer of Greenwood Village, CO; scamming slacker

The state of Colorado provided Matthew Kent Barringer with a law license in 2004 after he graduated from the Oklahoma City University School of Law.

The Colorado State Bar found Matty guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to explain a matter so as to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to hold his client’s money in his trust account until the money was earned
  • Asylum application prepared by Matty was deficiently prepared and did not establish the required essential eligibility requirements for asylum
  • Even though Matty’s client told him that she had experienced a specific and particular harm in her country of origin, Matty did not include that information in the asylum application
  • The application incorrectly stated that it was not filed within a year of the date his client entered the United States
  • Matty also failed to prepare his client for the merits hearing in her asylum case

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Matty by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 60-day suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court failed to mete out any meaningful punishment to Matty.

And lastlyas one would suspect, Matty fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website atwww.barringerlawfirm.com. Apparently, she chose to conceal this relevant information for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. October 2022), Matty practices his so-called brand of law with The Barringer Law Firm at 5660 Greenwood Plaza Blvd in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
