Solicitor Chiu Shou of Hong Kong; ethical dwarf

The Law Society of Hong Kong presented Chiu Koon Shou with a law license in 1994 after she graduated from the University of Hong Kong School of Law.

The Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Chiu guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in conduct unbefitting a solicitor
• Failed to properly supervise underling
• Failed to properly register the 1st Trainee Solicitor Contract with the Law Society
• Improperly charged for work done by the 2nd Respondent at the trainee solicitor hourly rate
• Improperly permitted solicitor trainee to act as witness to various Conveyancing documents
• Wrongly stated in the respective Employees Return of the Firm for several years, the Firm’s Notification of Changes to a previous practice
• Committed disgraceful, dishonorable and discreditable conduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal punished Chiu by gifting him with a complimentary censure and assessed a fine of HK$290,000.00 ($37,062 US Dollars).

As we speak (ca. October 2023), Chiu practices his so-called brand of law in Central, Hong Kong.
