Attorney James Truitt of Timonium, MD; ethical elf

The state of Maryland presented James Franklin Truitt with a law license in 1967 after he graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to properly supervise non-attorney assistants
• Permitted non-attorney office staff members to prepare unopposed notices of voluntary dismissal, affix the Jimmy’s electronic signature, and file the notices without the Jimmy’s review
• Failed to comply with signature requirements on documents filed with the court
• Failed to indicate to the courts that the notices were signed by any individual other than Jimmy

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maryland Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.  

As we speak (ca. September 2023), Jimmy practices his so-called brand of law at 20 East Timonium Road in Timonium, Maryland.
