Judge Lillian Jacobs of Los Angeles, CA; convicted drunkard

The state of California presented Lillian Vega Jacobs with a law license in 1998 after she graduated from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).

FYI: Former Gov. Jerry Brown was duped into appointing Lilly as a Superior Court Judge in 2014. Lily didn’t receive the appointment because she was the most qualified attorney in the greater Los Angeles area. She received it because she had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The State Judicial Commission found Lily guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Lily was stopped by Anaheim police in August 2022 on suspicion of driving under the influence
  • The officer had observed Lily driving southbound on Brookhurst Street “very slowly” and weaving back and forth in her lane
  • When the officer approached Lily’s car door, he could “smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” and her speech was slightly slurred
  • Lily was also unsteady on her feet during sobriety field testing
  • Lily was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Lily’s blood alcohol level was at least twice the legal limit with tests conducted two hours after her arrest
  • Subsequently, Lily pled guilty to driving under the influence (DUI) and was sentenced to three years of informal probation
  • Lily demonstrated a serious disregard of the principles of personal and official conduct embodied in the Code of Judicial Ethics
  • Failed to observe high standards of conduct so that the integrity and independence of the judiciary will be preserved
  • Failed to respect and comply with the law (scofflaw)
  • Failed to act at all times in a manner that promotes public confidence in the integrity of the judiciary
  • Failed to conduct her extrajudicial activities so that they do not demean the judicial office
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Lilly by gifting her with a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. August 2023), Lily continues to dispense her so-called idea of jurisprudence as a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge with the caveat that she be sober when she stumbles onto the bench.
