Attorney Matthew Trella of Clifton, NJ; ethical troll

The state of New Jersey presented Wardell Huff with a law license in 1970 after he graduated from Duquesne University School of Law.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Matty guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in gross neglect of client matters
  • Failed to keep a client 2 reasonably informed about the status of a matter
  • Failed to comply with reasonable client requests for information
  • Failed to promptly deliver funds to the client or a third party
  • Engaged in negligent misappropriation (theft) of escrow funds
  • Failed to set forth in writing the basis or rate of the legal fee
  • Engaged in an improper business transaction with a client
  • Made false statement of material fact in a disciplinary matter (Screw you, said Matty!)
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Matty by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. August 2023), Matty practices his so-called brand of law with the Matthew Trella Law Office at 1135 Broad Street in Clifton, New Jersey.
