Solicitor Murray Lawes of New Zealand; ethical gnome

The Law Society of New Zealand presented Murray Lawes with a law license in 2003 after he graduated from the University of Auckland Law School. 

The New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal found Phil guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in unsatisfactory conduct
• Failed to comply with trust account regulations
• Engaged in a reckless disregard for any obligations in relationship to trust account regulations was regarded as serious
• Demonstrated a reckless disregard of the relevant rules
• Failed to take to heart the two previous findings of unsatisfactory conduct against him in respect of previous
• reviews of his trust account
• There were a number of stale credit balances which have appeared repeatedly in each review of his trust
• account
• Displayed an absence of a proposal to remedy the systemic failings in his trust account administration

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Tribunal punished Tony by gifting him with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2023), Murray practices his so-called brand of law at 179 Hibiscus Coast Highway, Orewa, Read Beach, New Zealand.
