Attorney Daniel Martinez of Shawnee, KS; slacker, loser

The state of Kansas presented Daniel J. Martinez with a law license in 2006 after he graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Danny’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary censure for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

The Kansas Disciplinary Board found Danny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Danny engaged in two incidents of criminal conduct in 2013 and in 2019
• Failed to provide competent representation (idiot)
• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Misconduct motivated by selfishness
• Failed to communicate with his client
• Engaged in multiple violation of attorney conduct rules
• Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
• Failed to communicate with his client
• Failed in his duty to the public to maintain his personal integrity

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court punished Danny by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 3-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Danny.

Additionally, Danny was ordered to return the $9,0000 attorney fee to his prior client [victim].

As we speak (ca. June 2023), Danny practices his so-called brand of law with The Law Offices of Daniel J. Martinez at 12404 West 62nd Terrace in Shawnee, Kansas.
