Judge Mark Blumstein of Miami, FL; ethical troll

The state of South Carolina provided Carmen Tevis Mullen with a law license in 1978 after she graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

The Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission found Mark guilty of the following misconduct.

• Improperly used promotional materials and advertisements in his 2022 re-election campaign that inappropriately used the prestige of the United States military and his prior service in the United States Navy
• Improper military advertisements appeared to misrepresent that your campaign was affiliated with or endorsed by the Department of the Navy or Department of Defense
• Some of Mark’s campaign materials and advertisements feature a photograph of him wearing a military uniform as the primary or only graphic in violation of Department of Defense regulations
• Some campaign materials did not include a prominent and clearly displayed disclaimer required by the Department of Defense and Florida election law
• Mark was previously cautioned by representatives of the U.S. Navy to conform his campaign materials with Department of Defense regulations after you used nearly identical materials and advertisements in Mark’s 2016 election campaign

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2023), Mark continues to sit as a Dade County District Court judge in Miami, Florida.
