U.S. Circuit Judge Wallace Tashima of Los Angeles; greedy, ungrateful

The state of California presented Wallace Atsushi Tashima with a law license in 1961 after he graduated from Harvard Law School.

In 1980 President Carter was duped into appointing Wallace Atsushi Tashima to a seat on the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in Los Angeles. As is one would expect, Wallace didn’t receive this appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the West Coast, he received it because he had proven over the years to be a compliant and reliable bootlicker for the political hacks that pushed for his appointment. Wallace is another loser that never had any prior judicial experience.

Judge Tashima is yet another ungrateful loser who had the audacity to become a plaintiff in a lawsuit against the United States (that’d be us) wherein it is claimed that Congress violated the compensation clause of the constitution by barring cost-of-living adjustments. This laughable argument has already been turned down by the Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court several years ago.

Furthermore, this ingrate has the audacity to assert that he’s entitled to more than the $184,500 a year that he is already paid. Making matters even more laughable is the fact that Wallace assumed senior status in 2004, which means for the last 8-years he’s only been required to work 10-hours-a-week. In addition to being supremely greedy, he’s also a big time slacker.

As we speak (ca. June 2012), Wallace is 78-years-old, which begs the question as to why he hasn’t permanently retired. The answer is that as long as he continues to work as a retired senior judge, he’ll be entitled to any wage increases that Congress passes. That increase could be as much as 50%, meaning Wallace could then retire with a lifetime pension of about $275,000 plus fully paid medical insurance. By the way, if Wallace’s wife outlives him, she’ll get 50% of his pension until she dies.

What is truly galling is the fact that Wallace isn’t required to pay even one cent into the cost of his 100% lifetime pension. Why aren’t Congress and more importantly the Tea Party legislators raising hell about this abusive giveaway of taxpayer money?
