Attorney Joshua Mesmer of Manchester, NH; dimwitted slacker

The state of New Hampshire presented Joshua N. Messmer with a law license in 2009 after he graduated from the Massachusetts School of Law.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Josh guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to provide competent representation (dimwit)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to act with candor in dealing with a tribunal
• Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
• Josh acted with a selfish motive
• Josh pressured his client to pay unreasonable fees while lying to his client in order to maintain the false impression that he was working hard on her behalf
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Made dozens of intentional misrepresentations to his client over a period of many months
• Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
• Failed to abide by a client’s decisions concerning the objective of the representation
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Professional Conduct Committee punished Josh by gifting him with complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2023), Dick practices his so-called brand of law in Manchester, New Hampshire.
