Judge Terry Tanner Jr. of Prosser, WA; repeat drunken convict

The state of Washington provided Terry M. Tanner Jr. with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law.

FYI: Terry has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past twenty-seven (27) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Benton County area was about to offer him a good paying job.

It should be noted that the Board of Benton County Commissioners were duped into appointing Terry as a District Court Judge in 2009. Terry didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in Benton County. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The Judicia Commission found Terry guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Terry’s 1st bite at the Judicial Misfit Tree

  • Terry later told a sheriff’s deputy he had no memory of crashing his sedan on his way home from a Kennewick bar
  • Benton County sheriff’s deputies found District Court Judge Terry Tanner’s car March 6, 2018, crashed into a rock display at the corner South Cantera Street and South Clodfelter Road in rural Benton County
  • Benton County sheriff’s deputies found District Court Judge Terry Tanner’s car March 6, 2018, crashed into a rock display at the corner South Cantera Street and South Clodfelter Road in rural Benton County
  • Terry later told a sheriff’s deputy he had no memory of crashing his sedan on his way home from a Kennewick bar
  • In April 2018, he pleaded guilty to one gross misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence

Subsequently, Terry was gifted with a sentence of 15 days on electronic home monitoring by a like-minded and obviously sympathetic comrade who was donning a black robe.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Terry by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Terry’s 2nd bite at the Judicial Misfit Tree

  • Terry arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after crashing his car
  • The crash happened at about 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 2 on the 2600 block of Kingsgate Way
  • Dispatchers told the responding Richland police officer that Terry’s Cadillac sedan had high-centered on a concrete block
  • When Officer Tyler Denslow spoke with Terry, initially lied by denying he was driving
  • Terry further lied to Office Denslow by telling the vehicle did not belong to him and that he did not know whose car it was
  • Terry refused to take a field sobriety test or breathalyzer at the scene and was taken to the Benton County jail in Kennewick where a breathalyzer test was administered
  • This was Terry’s second DUI conviction

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders  for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Terry by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2023), Mark continues to dispense his so-called idea of jurisprudence as a Benton County Judge in Prosser, Washington with the caveat that he must be sober prior to his ascension to the bench.
