Attorney Lisa D. Davis of Piggott, AR; greedy liar

 
Panel B of the Arkansas Supreme Court Committee on Professional Conduct found Lisa guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to provide competent legal services (moron)
  2. Failed to abide by client’s directives as to litigation
  3. Failed to consult with client as to the client’s objectives
  4. Failed to act with reasonable diligence (slacker)
  5. Failed to provide written fee agreement to client
  6. Made a false statement of material fact to OPC investigators
  7. Failed to respond to a request for information from OPC investigators
  8. Made a materially false state to her client
  9. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty and/or misrepresentation
  10. Failed to return unearned fees to client (cheater)
Lisa’s misconduct involved a 117 acre farm that the Dalton brothers, Gary and D.W. had purchased, each owning one-half interest. Problems arose when no tenant could be found to lease the farm. Gary then hired Lisa to file a lawsuit for partition of the farm and paid her what he understood was a $3,500 flat fee.
 
Later on, Greedy Lisa billed Gary $8,794 for her so-called legal services by claiming she had worked 70.25 hours at $175.00 an hour. Of course Gary refused to pay her and subsequently filed an ethics complaint against her. During the pendency of the ethics investigation, Lisa repeatedly lied to the investigators in regards to material facts about the matter.
 
 As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arkansas Supreme Court punished Lisa by gifting her with a complimentary 90-day suspension of her law license. They also ordered Lisa to reimburse her client $3,500 for fees she never earned.
 
As we speak (ca. June 2012) Lisa the Liar practices law at 188 West Main Street in Piggott, Arkansas.
