Sen. Chuck Grassley (IA): Today’s “Hypocrite” Award Winner

This isn’t the first Award presented to Chuckie. In the past, he has been the recipient of seventeen (17) Awards in various categories and the subject of two (2) opinion pieces. Those awards and opinion pieces are listed at the end of this article and can be viewed by going to the listed categories.

FYI: Chuckie has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the last 63 years (1959 to 2023). If it wasn’t for a government check, Chuckie would likely have been relegated to working as a meat cutter at the Iowa Premium LLC meat packing plant located in Tama, Iowa. And if that didn’t pan out, he could have applied for a job as a greeter at Montgomery Wards Store located at 219 2^nd Street SE in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

To forever cement his status as an incompetent old codger and Serial Hypocrite, Chuck signed onto a letter letter authored by fellow Senate Hypocrite Mike Lee of Utah that was sent to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to express a collective commitment to oppose raising the debt ceiling without substantive spending and budget reforms.

In Lee’s sham letter feigning a desire for substantial spending cuts, he said:

• “It is now clear that Senate Republicans aren’t going to bail out Biden and Schumer, they have to negotiate.”
• “I thank my colleagues for joining my effort to emphasize this point in the clearest possible terms.”

Since he duped Iowans to elect him to the Senate in 1959, Chuckie never objected to an increase in the debt ceiling by demanding spending cuts when the following individuals were president.

• 18 times from 1981 to 1988 when Ronald Reagan was President
• 7 times from 2001 to 2009 when George W. Bush was President
• 3 times 2016 to 2020 when Donald Trump was President

History tells us that the debt ceiling authorizing borrowing to meet the government’s obligations was raised a total of 78 times beginning in 1960. It was raised without strings attached 49 times under Republican presidents and 29 times under Democratic presidents.

Chuckie’s conduct in demanding cuts to veteran benefits among other reductions that will affect low-income families is disgusting given his repeated votes to cut taxes for millionaires and billionaires.

I suppose it should surprise anyone that Chuckie doesn’t give a damn about reducing benefits to veterans since he never served his country even though he was age eligible to serve in the Korean War.

And lastly, it cannot be disputed that Lifetime Porker Chuck Grassley is a total embarrassment to well-intentioned hypocrites!
