Judge Michael Canaday of Lake Charles, LA; ethical troll

Unfortunately, the state of Louisiana provided Michael Canaday with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Louisiana State University School of Law.

FYI: Mikey has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past twenty-three (23) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Lake Charles area was about to offer Mikey a good paying job.

The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in illegal ex parte (one-sided) communications
• Mikey improperly turned transcripts from funding hearings that involved only him and the defense over to the prosecution without the defense’s knowledge
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Mikey communicated with members of the Calcasieu District Attorney’s Office about the case without including the defense
• The transcripts Mikey turned over allegedly contained defense strategy
• Mikey’s improper actions allowed the state access to confidential information they should not have had

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Mikey by the enablers of Judicial Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. May 2023), Mikey continues to practice his so-called idea of jurisprudence as a Fourteenth Judicial District Court Judge in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
