Solicitor John McGeechan of Scotland; ethical dwarf

The Law Society presented John Bunny McGeechan with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from the University of Glasgow School of Law.

The Scottish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in professional misconduct
  • Repeatedly resorted to undignified and intemperate language in correspondence with a firm of solicitors and a firm of accountants
  • Made allegations in correspondence with the solicitors and accountants, of dishonesty, for which he had no basis in fact or evidence to support them
  • After being put on notice by the solicitors of the correct position, Johnny continued to make such unfounded allegations; and
  • Johnny made similar unfounded allegations in court proceedings where he had no evidence to support them

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Discipline Tribunal punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary censure and imposed a fine of £3,000.

As we speak (ca. May 2023), Johnny practices his so-called brand of law at 77 Argyll Street in Lochgilphead, Scotland.
