Attorney Alexander Braden of Denver, CO; convicted of assault

 

The state of Colorado provided Alexander Scott Braden with a law license in 2020 after he graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law.

 

The Colorado State Bar found Alex guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct that directly, intentionally, and wrongfully harms others
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Alex and his girlfriend drank heavily before returning to his Alex’s apartment, and once there, Alex pulled out a pistol
  • When Alex’s girlfriend went to the bathroom to get ready for bed, she heard a gunshot that was so loud it made her ears ring
  • Subsequently, a bullet hole was later found two feet from where she had been standing
  • When Alex walked toward his girlfriend holding the gun she was cared and crying, she asked him why he discharged the firearm in her direction
  • Alex threatened to blame her for firing the gun
  • Because she did not feel safe in the apartment, she packed her belongings and called Denver police
  • Committed a criminal act that reflects adversely on the Alex’s honesty and  trustworthiness
  • Subsequently, Alex signed an extreme risk protection order, relinquishing his firearms and his concealed carry permit for 364 days
  • Later Alex was arrested after he harassed female patrons at a Denver bar and physically assaulted other patrons He punched one person in the face and gouged another person’s eye
  • When a security guard demanded that Braden leave the bar, Alex struck him in the throat and fled
  • Following a jury trial, Alex was convicted of assault, disturbing the peace, and interference with a police officer.
  • He was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for two days served and a one-year period

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Alex by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license. 

 

As we speak (ca. May 2023), Alex practices his so-called brand of law at 1588 Vrain Street in Denver, Colorado.
