Former Judge Christopher Brown of Pontiac, MI; serial offender

The state of Michigan provided Christopher C. Brown with a law license in 1966 after he graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Chris’s First bite at the Judicial Misconduct Apple Tree. He previously received four (4) complimentary admonitions for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

The Judicial Tenure Commission found Chris guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was a Judge of the 50th District Court in Pontiac.

  • Attempted use the prestige of his judicial office to gain a personal advantage
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • After being involved in an auto accident, Chris demanded that office Cosby run the other person’s on the Law Enforcement Information Network (L.E.I.N.)
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Chris’s conduct had the potential to erode the public’s confidence in the judiciary

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Michigan Supreme Court punished Chris by ordering that he be suspended from the bench for 15 days without pay.

As we speak (ca. March 2023), Chris practices his so-called brand of law at 283 Oak Ridge Drive in Pontiac, Michigan.
