Former Judge James Conrad of Center Line, MI; serial drunken convict

The state of Michigan provided James P. Conrad with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Wayne State University School of Law.

The Judicial Tenure Commission found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was a magistrate Judge of the 37th District Court for the city of Warren, Macomb County.

  • Two police officers observed Jimmy driving at the intersection of Sherwood and Iowa in Detroit
  • The officers effectuated a traffic stop based on a suspicion that Jimmy was under the influence of alcohol
  • After taking Jimmy into custody, the police administered him two breathalyzer tests
  • The results of each test established that Jimmy's blood alcohol content was .21, which is over the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle in Michigan, and constitutes operating a vehicle under the influence of intoxicating liquor
  • The DUI case was dismissed when the arresting officer conveniently failed to appear
  • In another case, Jimmy was driving on Gratiot in Roseville, Michigan in the early morning hours
  • A state police trooper effectuated a traffic stop at approximately 2:45 a.m., under a suspicion that Jimmy  was driving under the influence of alcohol
  • The Macomb County Sheriff department administered Respondent two breathalyzer tests after Respondent was taken into custody, the results of each test established that Respondent's blood alcohol content was .20

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Michigan Supreme Court punished Jimmy by ordering that he be suspended from the bench for 180-days without pay.

And lastly,as one would suspect, Jimmy fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website atwww.jamespconrad.com.  Apparently, Jimmy decided to conceal this relevant information from his prospective clients so that it would not limit his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. April 2023), Jimmy practices his so-called brand of law with James P. Conrad Attorney at Law at 7325 Bernice in Center Line, Michigan.
