Judge Harriet Thompson of Brooklyn, NY; ethical troll

The State of New York provided Harriet L. Thompson with a law license in 1986 after she graduated from Union University School of Law.

The New York Commission on Judicial Conduct found Harriet guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Made homophobic comments
  • Made inappropriate comments to and about employees and judges of the Unified Court
  • System
  • Displayed bias against various individuals and ethnicities
  • Failed to administer Surrogate Court matters in a timely manner, leading to substantial
  • delays
  • As a candidate for Surrogate in 2018, failed to complete mandatory campaign ethics education in a timely manner
  • Engaged in spewing forth racist remarks

Rather than wait for a ruling from the Commission that may well have led to her being tossed off the bench, Harriet did what any cowardly misfit would do, she agreed to resign in March 2023 and agreed to never seek judicial office again.

As we speak (ca. January 2023), Harriet continues to dispense her so-called idea of jurisprudence as a King’s County Surrogate Court judge in Brooklyn, New York.
