Attorney Richard Coleman of St. Paul, MN; slacker, loser

The state of Minnesota presented Richard M. Coleman with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the University of St. Thomas School of Law.

As one would suspect, this isn’t Dick’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Dick guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Failed to communicate with a client
  • Failed to comply with applicable law regarding termination of representation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to protect client interest upon being terminated

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished

Dick by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license and assessed him $900 in investigative costs.

As we speak (ca. April 2023), Dick practices his so-called brand of law at 1358 Eleanor Avenue in St. Paul, Minnesota.
