Judge Demetria Brue of Detroit; ethical troll

The state of Michigan provided Demetria Brue with a law license in 1988 after she graduated from Wayne State University School Of Law.

FYI: Former Gov. Rick Snyder was duped into appointing Demetria as a 36^th District Court judge in 2012. Demetria didn’t receive the appointment because she was the most qualified attorney in the greater Detroit area. She received it because she had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

It should be noted that Demetria has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past thirty-four (34) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Detroit area was about to offer her a good paying job.

The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission found Demetria guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to avoid all impropriety and the appearance of impropriety
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct eroding public confidence in the judiciary
• Abused the prestige of her judicial office to advance her personal interests
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Demetria!)
• Engaged in conduct exposing the judiciary to contempt
• Engaged in forbidden conduct contrary to justice, ethics, honesty, or good morals
• Engaged in conduct that violates a criminal law of Michigan
• Knowingly and willfully made a statement to a peace office that she knew was false or misleading regarding a material fact
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Knowingly and repeatedly lied to Judicial Commission (Screw you, said Demetria!)

Demetria’s misconduct also involved the following facts.

• While on vacation on Mackinac Island, Demetria rented a bike for herself and a friend
• Demetria provided her credit card to staff at the rental facility to pay for the rentals
• Upon returning to the facility, Demetria told the staff she and her friend experienced problems with the bikes
• Demetria did not want to pay the full price for the rentals and asked for an accommodation
• The staff member then called for the owner Ira Green
• After speaking for 20 minutes, Mr. Green and Demetria were unable to reach an agreement on the matter

During her discussion with Mr. Green, Demetria said:

• “You’re going to call the police on two black judges.”
• “We’re trying to explain to you the situation with the bikes and so now you want to call the police officers on us.”
• “I’m absolutely a judge.”

During her discussion with Mr. Green, Demetria reached over the cash register and forcibly attempted to take the bike rental paper out of Mr. Green’s hand, ripping the paper.

Demetria then made the following statements to Mr. Green.

• “You assaulted me. Did you just assault me?”
• “You took my receipt and tore it up.”
• “I want the police. Now we need the police. I am going to call them. Because you just assaulted an elected official who is here. . . who came here by invitation for a conference.”
• “You assaulted me. I asked you for my receipt back. You snatched my receipt back from me. You snatched my receipt and threw it away and grabbed my hand and you hurt me. You touched my hand with force and violence.
• “I am a female. I am a judge. I am here for a conference and you --- . . . --- I am an African America female.”
• “That was racist, and it was disrespectful and it was violent.”
• “No, you settle down. You touched me. I am afraid, I’m shaken.”
• “I’m in fear of my safety --- with violence.”
• “Do you know what is now going to happen to you, a Caucasian man that’s found guilty of striking an African American female judge?

 The Commission found the following regarding Demetria’s statements.

• Demetria’s statements that Mr. Green assaulted her were false and she knew them to be false when she made them
• Demetria’s statement that Mr. Green snatched the receipt from her were false and she knew them to be false when she made it
• Demetria’s statement that Mr. Green touched her hand with force and violence were false and she knew it to be false when she made it

Subsequently, Police Officer Kenneth Hardy arrived at the bicycle rental shop. Demetria then lied to Officer Hardy by saying:

• “You [Mr. Green standing by] grabbed my hand and snatched the receipt out of my hand because you didn’t want me to have a receipt. He took my receipt.”

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment will be meted out to Judge Brue by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. December 2022), Demetria continues to practice her so-called idea of jurisprudence as a 36^th District Court Judge in Detroit, Michigan.
