Judge Kurt Stoebe of Fort Dodge, IA; ethical troll, lifetime porker

The state of Iowa provided Kurt J. Stoebe with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from Hamline University School of Law.

The California Judicial Commission found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

As one would suspect, Kurt has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past forty-five (45) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater

• At the relevant time, Judge Stoebe was chairman of the District 2 Judicial Nominating Commission, which covers several counties in northern Iowa
• Several commission members accused him of making inappropriate and unprofessional comments about certain nominees
• Kurt falsely claimed that a nominee had withdrawn from consideration
• Kurt favored one nominee over others during discussions and interviews
• Kurt’s actions tainted the process and she rejected the nominees and ordered the commission to start over for only the second time in history

The chairman of the Iowa House Judiciary Committee is working to launch an investigation of Judge Stoebe who has been accused of trying to rig a judicial nomination to get a favored candidate appointed to the bench. (David Pitt, Associated Press

All that remains now is to see what facts are gleaned from Iowa House Judiciary Committee’s investigation. Additionally, it is highly unlikely that the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Iowa Judicial Qualifications Commission will take any action against Kurt regardless of the findings of the House Committee.
