Judge Tim Grendell of Chardon, OH; ethical troll, repeat offender

The state of Ohio presented Tim Grendell with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from Case Western University Law School in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Timmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was sitting as a Geauga County Probate/Juvenile Judge.

• Ordered two teenage boys to be held in juvenile detention for a weekend for refusing to visit their estranged father
• Abuse the prestige of his judicial office to advance his personal or economic interests or that of others, or allowed others to do so
• Failed to uphold and apply the law (scofflaw)
• Failed to perform all duties of his judicial office fairly and impartially
• Improperly appeared at a public hearing involving a legislative body and/or official
• Invoked his role as the Probate and Juvenile Court Judge to criticize Ohio’s COVID response
• Fact to act in manner promoting public confidence in the judiciary
• Improperly initiated, received, permitted, or considered ex parte (one-sided) communications
• Failed to avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety
• Improperly made public statements that might reasonably be expected to affect the outcome or impair the fairness of a matter pending or impending in any court
• Uttered retaliatory threats against employees of the state auditor’s office
• Failed to disqualify himself in proceedings wherein his impartiality might reasonably be questioned
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

Repeatedly maligned the Ohio Department of Health (“ODH”) by making comparison to the 2018 seasonal flu during his testimony before the Ohio legislature, which is as follows.

• “The difference was we didn’t close down the world.”
• “We didn’t misreport that every human being was exposed to dying tomorrow because of the seasonal flu.”
• “ODH “continued to release daily only the most negative information-the cumulative cases, cumulative hospitalizations, cumulative: deaths without contextual data.”
• “There's a difference between data and fact. Fact is actual reality. Data is manipulation of the numbers of reality to come to some conclusion.”
• “As far as | am personally concerned, the [COVID] testing is a bit of a red herring.”

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Timmy by the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court.
