Former Judge Lee Dreyfus Jr. of Milwaukee, WI; slacker, liar

The state of Wisconsin presented Lee S. Dreyfus Jr. with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law.

The Wisconsin Judicial Commission found Lee guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was sitting as a Waukesha County Circuit Court judge.

• Failed to decide two cases for more than one year
• Filed certificates of pending case status for six months falsely reporting that there were no cases pending beyond the prescribed period
• Misrepresented [lied] to the deputy chief judge of the judicial administrative district that he had dictated decisions in two cases six months previously, but a clerk had failed to type them
• Lied to ethics investigator about cases pending for more than six months (Screw you, said Lee!)
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• On an aggravated and persistent basis violated six of the standards set forth in the Code of Judicial Ethics
• Engaged in gross personal misconduct
• Willfully and persistently failed to perform his judicial duties

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Jerry by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension from the bench.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Lee makes no mention of his misconduct as set forth above on his self-serving website at www.dreyfusmediation.com. Apparently, Lee decided to conceal this information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Lee by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension from the bench.

It should also be noted that the Wisconsin Court System attorney search website conceals Lee’s misconduct by falsely stating: “Discipline History: There is currently no public disciplinary history for this attorney.”

Apparently, concealing from public searches on its website, the Wisconsin Court System has determined that it will not disclose misconduct meted out to Wisconsin Judges. On the other hand, the same courtesy is not afforded to attorneys disciplined for engaging in misconduct.
