Judge Antonia Arteaga of San Antonio, TX; avarice, arrogance award

The state of Texas provided Antonia Arteaga with a law license in 1990 after she graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law.

FYI: St. Mary’s is ranked as the 179th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

From 2019 to 2022, Antonia received 14 political contributions of $100 each, and one contrition of $24.00, one for $50.00, and one for $75.00. It would be hard to imagine that any of these donors would have made their donations had they been aware of the way Antonia planned on expending said sums.

Despite being a government employee who is provided with an office and office equipment, Antonia decided that she was entitled to spend nearly $7,000.00 to furnish her courtroom/chambers, which included spending $5,240.00 to pay Kit Schroder as a design consultant. She also felt entitled to spend $1,400.00 of the donations to her to pay for a judicial photo.

Those expenses, all of which are of a personal nature, clearly establish that Antonia finds it acceptable to misuse donor funds in this manner. In truth, it appears that Antonia is of the firm belief that “her bowel movement is without odor.”

The table below sets forth the details of the manner wherein Antonia displayed her avarice and greed.
