Attorney Michael Lawrynk of Appleton, WI; convicted drunk

The state of Wisconsin presented Michael Dale Lawrynk with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Law.

FYI: This isn’t Mikey’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complementary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to promptly inform the clients of email correspondence he received from opposing counsel regarding the clients having missed a payment on the land contract
• Failed to provide his clients with a copy of a partial summary judgment motion before or at the time it was filed
• Failed to timely file a summary judgment motion, despite the clients’ multiple email reminders of the court’s deadline
• Failed to respond to emails from the clients expressing concern regarding fees
• Additionally, Mikey’s clients sent him an email inquiring if he was aware of a negative Google review from a former client and stating that they hoped the review was not true
• Divulged confidential client information
• Failed to promptly file notice to the court about client termination of his services
• Engaged in conduct that led to a misdemeanor conviction of second offense if operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI)
• Mikey consumed alcohol at a pub and then operated a motor vehicle, which resulted in a single-vehicle accident
• Pled no contest (guilty in effect) to driving under the influence
• Failed to report his conviction to the Office of Lawyer Regulation as required

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Mikey fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.gwkl.net. Apparently, he decided to conceal this highly relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.
