Attorney Albert Jones of Tuscaloosa, AL; ethical gremlin

The State of Alabama presented Albert Jones with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law.

The Alabama State Bar Association found Al guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate with his client
  • Failed to keep client informed of the status of her case
  • Medicare contacted Al’s client requesting reimbursement because of the settlement of her personal injury case
  • The same day Medicare contacted the client, she called Al and he told her to ignore the letter from Medicare because the case had not been settled
  • The very next day after Al said her case had not settled, she contacted the Tuscaloosa Circuit Court and obtained a copy of a “Joint Notice of Settlement” entered between the parties in her case
  • Al told ethics investigators he had obtained his client’s permission to settle the case, however, he was unable to produce any proof that he had obtained the client’s permission or that of the Bankruptcy Court to settle the case

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Alabama Supreme Court punished Al by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2022), Al practices his so-called brand of law with the Law Offices of Al Jones & Associates

at in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
