Former Judge Joan Gordon of Baltimore, MD; slacker, loser

The state of Maryland presented Joan Gordon with a law license in 1978 after she graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

The Judicial Commission found Joan guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Written opinion and order regarding contempt matter involving Assistant Public Defender contained factually inaccurate and misleading statements
  • Failed to comply with the law
  • Failed to act in manner promoting public confidence in the judiciary
  • Failed to perform her duties impartially and fairly
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to perform judicial duties competently (moron)
  • Failed to ensure litigants the right to be heard (aka, due process)
  • Failed to perform her duties impartially and fairly
  • Failed to be patient, dignified, and courteous to litigants, jurors, witnesses, lawyers, court staff, court officials, and others whom she dealt with in her official judicial capacity

Apparently, Joan is under the firm belief that “due process” is how the grass becomes moist in the am.

Rather than wait for a decision from the Maryland Supreme Court that would likely have led to her being tossed off the bench, Joan did what any disrespected Judicial Misfit would do, she retired.

As we speak (ca. November 2022), it is rumored that Joan has an application pending with the Walmart Supercenter Store at 3601 Washington Blvd in Arbutus, Maryland for a job as a cashier.
