Former Judge W. Louis Hennessy of La Plata, MD; ethical troll

The state of Maryland presented W. Louis Hennessy with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law.

FYI: Former Governor Bob Ehrlich was duped into appointing Louie as a Charles County 4th District Court judge in 2005. Louie didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater La Plata area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The Judicial Commission found Louie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to comply with the law
  • Failed to act in manner promoting public confidence in the judiciary
  • Allowed personal and extrajudicial activities to take precedence over duties of his judicial office
  • Lent prestige of judicial office to advance his personal or economic interests or that of others
  • Failed to perform his duties impartially and fairly
  • Failed to allow all litigants, including self-represented litigants, to be fairly heard (aka, due process)
  • Conveyed or permitted others to convey the impression that any person was able to influence him
  • Engaged in improper ex parte (one-sided) communications
  • Improperly commented publicly on pending cases
  • Failed to require court staff, court officials, and others subject to his direction and control to act in a manner consistent with the judge’s obligations under this Code of Conduct

Apparently, Louie is under the firm belief that “due process” is how the grass becomes moist in the am.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Maryland Supreme Court punished Louie by gifting him with a complimentary 9-month suspension from the bench. Shortly thereafter, Louie did what any disrespected loser would do, he retired on May 21, 2022.

As we speak (ca. November 2022), it is rumored that Louie has applied for a job as a stock boy at the Walmart Supercenter Store at 40 Drury Drive in La Plata, Maryland.
